Annual Events
Fall Festival
The OAC Annual Fall Festival is an exciting event for the area. Art and food vendors, both local and traveling, set up shop in the Olney City Park for a day of arts, crafts, food and entertainment. There are a range of activities for any age to participate in while visiting the fall festival. A children's art area is set up for the young and young at heart to enjoy. Art and craft demonstrations are also available to see as you wander from vendor to vendor. If you find yourself tired from visiting the vendor stands, an excellent place to rest is the park bandshell where you can find entertainment of all types perform all day long. Watch the young dancers and gymnasts of the area tumble and twirl, or listen to our local singers, jazz band, and marching band perform songs of old and new, or catch our 'headliner' act for the year! Whatever your taste, you're sure to find it at the Fall Festival. To learn how to register as a vendor, visit our Fall Festival page.
Fine Arts Showcase
The OAC Fine Arts Showcase is an excellent opportunity for area artists to showcase their art work. All mediums are welcome in this showcase and all art work is registered for adjudication with the option for the artist to sell his/her work. The showcase spans five days and concludes with an artist reception on the final evening where the winning artists are presented their awards. Summer Children's Theatre Workshop
The Olney Arts Council recognizes that the future of the arts in our community rests in the hands of our youth. Every summer, the Olney Arts Council, in conjunction with Olney Central College, holds a three-week summer children's theatre workshop. Any student entering 3rd Grade-9th Grade are eligible to participate. During the workshop, students learn about auditioning, character development, choreography, directing, music, costuming and so much more! The culminating event of the workshop is a performance of a Broadway, JR! musical where students are able to demonstrate their growth as young performers for their friends, family, and the community. To learn more about this workshop and how to register, visit our Performing Arts page.
