Grass Roots Program
Sheila Ritter, Chairman
The OAC is looking with great interest toward the future of the arts in our community by nurturing appreciation and understanding of the fine arts in our school age children. The Grass Roots Program was piloted in 1980 and brings professional artists to children through the local school in cooperation with the Parent-Teacher Organizations and with additional funding provided by the Carrie Winters Trust and our membership. Richland County children are exposed to drama, music, dance, and visual artists through the performances and workshops of the Grass Roots Program.
Events for Grass Roots Program
During the 2023-24 school year, we welcomed both Oba William King, storyteller and musician and Opera for the Young, preforming Beauty and the Beast at the Elementary School and St. Joe.
