What's better than an evening at the theatre? The Performing Arts Committee produces summer musical theatre productions, concerts, recitals, melodramas, dinner theatre productions, and workshops all while recognizing and utilizing local talent! The committee takes a leadership role in planning the entertainment for the Fall Festival and hosts a wide variety of concerts, ballets, musicals, and more throughout the year. Committee members are a diverse group of talented individuals who are interested in excellent music, theatre, and dance.
Children's Theatre Workshop
Every July we host the Children's Theatre Workshop at Olney Central College.
Your student(s) can enroll in a three-week workshop designed to foster creativity, passion, and confidence. During the workshop, students will have the opportunity to learn and experience a variety of skills attributed to the theatre arts including costume design, set design, stage movement and choreography, music direction, stage direction, and so much more! The students will conclude the workshop at the end of the three-weeks with two performances fully staged.
In 2024, we were excited to have our largest yet workshop with 85 students performing Little Mermaid Jr! See the slideshow below for cast photos of our previous shows.
